Kota Permai Golf & Country Club (KPGCC) recently provided a sneak peek into its 2019 Ramadhan spread with an exclusive preview event held at the newly-styled Permai Lounge which showcased some of the buffet line-up’s more significant dishes and ‘live’ cooking stalls.

Invited guests – which included members of the media as well as key tournament and banquet organisers – were treated to an array of crowd favourites and traditional dishes synonymous with the fasting month and Hari Raya Aidilfitri, with the highlight being the ‘live’ cooking stalls.

The preview featured about 70% of the actual buffet which will begin on 6 May and end on 1 June 2019. While guests were hosted at the Permai Lounge which incidentally also made its official debut on the same day, the actual buffet will be laid out at the club’s Poolside Pavilion.

Having just celebrated its 20th anniversary in November last year, the club’s management decided to bring about some much-needed changes in accordance with their mission towards elevating the existing products and services.

One of these changes was to the entire F&B operations, now taken up by HNF Catering Sdn Bhd, which has been in business since 2001. The company has extensive experience in F&B operations in club settings, plus expertise in banqueting and large quantity outdoor catering.

Armed with the club’s own experienced team plus HNF’s crew of experts, KPGCC’s F&B has been given a breath of fresh air, which is evident in the one-month that the latter has begun operations garnering positive feedback from both members and guests alike.

“This is a major reason why we organised this preview – to make it known that we have embarked on a brand-new gastronomic adventure and that it’s going to be a good one,” said Tang Meng Loon, Director of Club, Township & Property Management during his welcome speech.

“We are confident that our Ramadhan spread this year will be fantastic – not only because we have sampled it ourselves, but because we actively chose to improve our service standards as always and we know exactly what patrons are looking for.”

While the buffet spread carried traditional items such as chicken and beef rendang, ayam masak merah, mutton masala, udang sambal petai, ikan masak lemak cili padi, sotong paprika, pajeri nenas, ulam-ulam, gado-gado, assorted kerabu and more,it was the ‘live’ cooking stalls that stole the show.

The signature lamb (kambing panggang) plus other roasted and grilled items such as the ikan bakar and roasted chicken were a hit, in addition to other stalls that presented timeless favourites such as mee kari, assam laksa, nasi impit, lemang, chicken and beef satay, cucur udang, murtabak and more.

Various desserts were also on offer such as an assortment of buah kurma, nyonya and Malay kuih, cakes, puddings, sagu gula melaka, ice kacang and crème caramel plus various bubur and pengat pisang.

Buffet vouchers are already on sale – RM98 nett for adults and RM49 nett for children (12 years and below) and senior citizens (55 years and above) – and can be purchased at the club.
