In line with its plans to create awareness internationally, FoW also unveiled a preview of an upcoming art project organised in collaboration with Taiwan Culture Foundation. Mr. Patrick Wee, founder of FoW highlighted during the preview, “We are very excited about this collaboration as it will not only showcase the creativity of Taiwan and Malaysian artists but also help create awareness about holistic wellness and how city dwellers can live healthier and happier by slowing down and regaining balance.”

Anchored by Malaysia’s biggest sound healing centre, OhanaJo Studio and multiple award winning day spa from Borneo, Jari Jari Spa, FoW makes up 23,000 square feet of space and houses a rich collection of spa, beauty and healthcare services, all under one roof including traditional chinese medicine, aesthetics and regenerative medicine.

Chairman of the Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board, Datuk Ahmad Shah Hussein Tambakau commented, “With Visit Malaysia Year 2020 aiming to attract 30 million visitors, we applaud this initiative by FoW to establish itself as an urban wellness hub that integrates both traditional Malaysian and western wellness modalities. Indeed, the efforts to promote FoW as a wellness tourism destination is commendable and matches our mission to promote our rich culture and heritage to the world.”

Datuk Ahmad Shah also remarked, “I’m pleased to see our culture being promoted to the world, particularly Jari Jari Spa’s signature treatment, the Dusun Lotud Inan (Paddy Field) Massage which was passed down through the generations of the Lotud Dusun Tribe, the largest group of indigenous people in North Borneo.”

“The tourism industry currently creates employment opportunities for some 3.2 million people, making up 22.7 per cent of the total employment in the nation. With Jari Jari Spa continuously recruiting and training native Sabahans to deliver its age-old massage therapies, we are pleased to know that more jobs for native Sabahans will be created in the future.” Datuk Ahmad Shah added.
