FTSE Russell and Bursa Malaysia Berhad (“Bursa Malaysia”) announced on 2nd June that there are no changes to the constituents of the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI, following the semi-annual review of the FTSE Bursa Malaysia Index Series. The index series is reviewed semi-annually in accordance with the index ground rules.

The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI, which is part of the FTSE Bursa Malaysia Index Series, is widely used by investors as the primary benchmark for the Malaysian market, including derivatives, through the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI Futures (FKLI) and the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI Options (OKLI). The benchmarks are also tracked by several index-linked financial products, such as exchange-traded funds.

The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI reserve list, comprising the five highest-ranking non-constituents of the index by market capitalisation, will be Westports Holdings, QL Resources, AMMB Holdings, Malaysia Airports and Gamuda. The reserve list will be used if one or more constituents are deleted from the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI in accordance with the index ground rules during the period up to the next semi-annual review.

Meanwhile, changes to the FTSE Bursa Malaysia Index Series semi-annual review for June 2022 are as follows:

1. FTSE Bursa Malaysia Mid 70 Index

2. FTSE Bursa Malaysia Hijrah Shariah Index

All constituent changes take effect at the start of business on Monday, 20 June 2022. The next review will take place in December 2022.

FTSE Group and Bursa Malaysia have partnered since 2006 to provide a suite of indexes for the Malaysian Market.
