Superbrands, positioned as the world’s largest independent arbiter of branding, hosted its 10th annual Superbrands Malaysia Awards luncheon at Hotel Istana Kuala Lumpur recently, honouring brand offerings from 34 domestic enterprises as well as leading multinationals.
The awards evaluated more than 1,242 Malaysian brands, voted on by over 3,000 professionals, via a rigorous selection process which involved scoring by the Superbrands Council as well as online polling. Outstanding brands are included in the Superbrands Malaysia coffee-table book, which traces the history and achievements of each brand, as well as the Superbrands site.
“The Superbrands Malaysia 2018 Awards, considered the ‘Oscars of Branding’ by the corporate world, are presented to winning brands represented by their chief executive officers, managing directors, marketing directors and other top marketing and PR executives,” says Superbrands Director Mike English.
“These brands, which range from fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) to locally owned family businesses, are featured in the Superbrands Malaysia book. Participation is by invitation only and acknowledges the inherent strength of the organisation and its brand value.”
Other benefits of recognition in the awards include entitlement to use the Superbrands logo in brand advertising, packaging and other marketing communications materials. This year, recipients of the Superbrands Malaysia Awards included ACER, mudah.my, carlist.my and SSI Properties Sdn Bhd.
