In this uncertain economic climate, every sen counts. Recognising this, AEON’s TOPVALU Fair offers customers a vast variety of quality products at affordable prices. Held for the third consecutive year at 29 AEON stores nationwide from 1 to 15 October, the Fair introduces exciting new TOPVALU products to shoppers. Customers can also participate in the sampling activities, enter the ‘Win a Trip to Japan’ contest as well as enjoy the Teh Tarik performance at the Fair.
First introduced in Malaysia in 2013 with less than 100 SKUs, the TOPVALU range has grown to 1,176 SKUs encompassing 123 food and 242 non-food TOPVALU items, in addition to 750 home and living products and 61 fashion brands. More than half of these SKUs were developed in Malaysia, while 500 SKUs are imported directly from AEON TOPVALU Japan. The attractive pricing strategy is made possible though a combination of cost-effective packaging, and carefully selected quality and affordable ingredients and raw materials to develop the TOPVALU range of products.
The introduction of the Asiana and Fusion Food concept such as sauces, cooking oils, instant food and seasoning flour, are specifically tailored to Malaysian taste buds and are certified Halal, according to Haruki Nishikata, Foodline Director, AEON TOPVALU (M) Sdn Bhd. These new range of Halal products will be exported to AEON TOPVALU Japan and Thailand.
Prominently showcased on AEON’s display shelves are the three-tiers of TOPVALU: TOPVALU BESTPRICE, which are the cheapest in the category due to simpler packaging and lower cost materials i.e., the best-selling TOPVALU BESTPRICE Soft Toilet Roll; TOPVALU, which are products benchmarked to national brand standards i.e., TOPVALU Potatoes Crisps and TOPVALU SELECT, which comprises the best premium local and imported products i.e., TOPVALU Select Premium Chicken Sausage.
“TOPVALU SELECT was introduced just last year here and is developed with according to stringent quality measures using the best selected ingredients, materials, origins and manufacturing process at the most competitive price in the market,” said Audrey Lim, General Manager, Merchandising & Marketing, AEON CO. (M) Bhd. “In each tier, our customers can be assured that they are getting the best prices from the get-go.”
AEON’s commitment to offer customers dramatically more for less is reflected in their hefty investment of resources in research, customer focus groups, product taste tests and sourcing of quality raw materials and manufacturers to develop the TOPVALU products. “It takes about six months just to produce one product,” said Haizon Haini Mokhtar, Assistant General Manager, Foodline Division, AEON TOPVALU Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. “As such, our food products not only hits the right spot with our customers, but are also certified safe for their consumption. All local and imported TOPVALU items are certified HALAL and processed under the strict quality control process.”
